There are some downfalls however to a game that old, graphics being one of them. This mod overwrites those older textures, with completely re-done snow textures and more detailed frosted windows and glass. Download Snow but better! Normally, the Sims 3 is a top-down perspective type of game. It gives you the ability to manage the Sims how you like and lets you oversee whatever you need to.
This mod allows you to take matters into your own hands and control and view your Sims by seeing the world through their perspective, giving you a whole other level of immersion into your gameplay. Download The Third Person Mod. Conversations in The Sims 3 are typically very boring and not important at all, you have no control over what the Sims talk about, and no control over whether the outcome is positive or negative.
A lot of the time players just skip through the scenes and barely pay attention to what is being said. Download Deep Conversations. Many of us as a child wanted to grow up and be a ninja, they are super cool and they fight off bad guys and have other noble duties. With this mod, it allows that dream to become a reality for your sims, by adding a ninja career to the game. The ninjas will work Monday through Friday in the evening and they have different ranks corresponding to their belt color.
The lowest being a white belt, and the highest being a black belt. Download Ninja Career Mod. But the Ultra Plain Eyes mod sticks to the aesthetic visuals of Sims 3 while making the eyes just look better. With reduced pupils and better-shaped eyes, the characters look less cartoony and just better! This is a small change that makes a big difference in your characters. This mod also comes with contact lens options for all characters, no bar for age or gender.
Download Ultra-Plain Eyes. It also makes a massive improvement to the facial expressions that Sims characters make, much more subtle. This mod works on all male and female characters of all ages from toddlers to elders.
Download Ultra Plain Faces. You can get bored of one location pretty quick in Sims 3, but the cost of traveling is too high. You lose all the relationships and progress that you made in the original location, and starting from scratch is an exhausting prospect.
With this traveler mod you have access to all the locations and you can easily visit them and lead parallel lives without losing out on the relationships in either place! Download traveler. If you feel nostalgic about the days spent playing The Sims, long ago before the sequels were released, the creator of this mod knows exactly what you need.
It should look like the picture above. If they are there, this means you completed the most important step, which is the setting up your game to accept custom content. Test if the packages are working properly. Nobuildsparkles completely eliminates that. Go play the game and build something; if no sparkles effects appear, it means your mods are working in-game. If they are not working as intended, you need to start over. Delete the Mods folder and start again from Step 1. Find a mod that you want to play with.

Download the mod you want to play with. I use the St. Enchanted Environment — Replaces the EA sun, moon, clouds, rainbow, stars, snow, frozen pond texture, and snowy footprints with much nicer versions. Mod is no longer available from the creator.

You will need to register an account at Sims Asylum to download. Moar Interactions — Adds new interactions and fixes some of the EA ones. No or Fewer Automatic Memories — This mod stops the memory scrapbook from filling up with useless memories. OMSPs — One more slot, please. Use to add more decorations and clutter to surfaces.
Porter — Allows you to pack and move your family to new worlds while keeping jobs and relationships intact. Realistically Slower Cars — Slows down all vehicles to a realistic speed in-game.
Relativity — This mod can be tuned to change the speed at which time flows during the course of a sim-day. Tagger — Overhauls the map tagging system. Time Shifter — Allows you to set the time of day, similar to the set hour cheat in Sims 2.
Use with caution. Your entire neighborhood will be affected. I mostly use it for taking screenshots if I need it to be night time or day time, etc. Money Mods These are mods that impact money or finance in the game.
Tax Collector — This mod provides a way to manually collect Tax Money from your sims. Pose Mods These are the mods I use for posing my Sims in screenshots. Screenshot Backdrop — Color castable backdrop to take screenshots in front of a full bright color. Pregnancy Mods These are mods that affect pregnancies in the game. Pregnancy Progress Controller — This mod adds a set of pie menu Pregnancy Options to all sims teen and above, both human and pet. It has a ton of functions choose sex of baby, terminate pregnancy, show status, etc.
I use the Woohooer to enable teen pregnancies see Romance section below. Dresser — The mod adds accessories, body hair, makeup, and new hair to all sims. I found this mod incredibly annoying. Minimum Wage — A mod to lower the pay and increase the hours of all Sims 3 Careers. I found the pay to be just a little too low for my liking. Retuned Attraction System — An overhaul of the in-game attraction system.
Sleep Freedom — This mod overrides the EA requirement that teenagers be related to sleep in the same bed together. Woohooer — Adds risky woohoo, teen woohoo, and teen pregnancy.
Also improves the romantic systems in the game. Shopping Mods Since shopping works differently in The Sims 3, I like using mods to add functionality such as shopping for clothes and selling things in player-owned shops.
No Fridge Shopping — This mod replaces the meal-making interactions on the fridge with custom ones that check whether the Sim has the required ingredients to make the meal or snack. Produce Stand — Allows your Sims to sell anything including produce and prepared food from their home lots. Removes the ability to plan outfit from all dressers. This mod is obsolete if you have Into the Future. Shop from Inventory — Allows you to sell items you have assigned as the store inventory through hacked registers, so you can basically create any type of store or shop you like.
Dreamer — This mod allows your Sims to satisfy unlocked dreams when their criteria is met. If tuned, the mod will stop the timeout of unlocked dreams. Read the instructions carefully. This one requires some fiddling. Disable Hopscotch Wishes — Stops your Sims from getting the annoying wishes to play hopscotch all the time. Much love Reply.
